How did you become interested in biostatistics/bioinformatics?

I have always enjoyed math and statistics and thought that applying it to biologically-related issues seemed like an interesting way to use those skills.

Why did you choose UB?

UB had options for gaining practical experience while still learning the theory behind it. Buffalo is also an affordable city which is very attractive in comparison to other statistics programs in the North East.

Tell me about your experience in the Bioinformatics and Biostatistics program?

The coursework is challenging but provides students with a robust skill set of statistical knowledge. The program also offers a much deeper understanding than what you can find in most undergraduate programs.

What do you enjoy the most about the your program?

The professors often feel like mentors due to the casual and comfortable atmosphere they create with their students. It makes it easy to ask questions and work collaboratively to think through complicated statistical concepts.

How does receiving a degree from UB set you apart?

UB has a great reputation and the biostatistics program is very highly ranked. The program also has high caliber professors that make an education from here quite valuable.
