The loan closet serves NYSCB consumers who are working toward employment and/or educational goals.
This program provides free, temporary loans for Assistive Technologies (AT), computer systems, software, and other devices that are needed for meeting vocational goals. These items may be loaned while a person is awaiting equipment that has been recommended in an AT evaluation, while a person’s existing equipment is being repaired or serviced, or under other circumstances.
Douglas processes the loans by setting up requested equipment and is responsible for distribution and shipping of the equipment. He manages the loan closet inventory, completes relevant documentation, and performs system maintenance and repair work when needed. In order to ensure effective delivery of services, Douglas maintains direct contact with various vendors, agencies, and professionals within the technology, human services, and healthcare industries. He has a Certificate in Office Technology and several years of experience working with AT.
