Shelby Yamamoto joined the Department of Epidemiology and Environmental Health in 2024 as an associate professor and is a part of the Center for Climate Change and Health Equity. Shelby previously worked at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada, where she focused on projects related to climate change, air pollution, and health, particularly among understudied populations. Her particular interest lies in the intersection of climate change, health equity, and social environments. More recently, she has begun exploring the effects of mitigation and adaptation, with an interest in reducing risks and promoting resilience.
