U.S. CDC Community Preventive Services Task Force Community Guide on Childhood Obesity prevention

This program will help to develop a Center for Disease Control (CDC) Community Guide on School-based Childhood Obesity Prevention.

Program Background

Youfa Wang, MS, MD, PhD, and his team of researchers act as a formal collaborative partner of the US CDC Obesity Coordination Team.  The CDC Obesity Coordination Team - that consists of leading experts from the CDC, NIH, the US Community Preventive Services Task Force and universities - is tasked with helping to develop a CDC Community Guide on School-based Childhood Obesity Prevention.   This guide will be developed based upon the 835-page AHRQ report that Wang’s team published in 2013 assessing the effectiveness of childhood obesity intervention programs.

New literature search and analysis will be conducted to develop the community guide. The US Community Preventive Services Task Force periodically publishes Community Guide on important health issues.
