The School of Public Health and Health Professions has received $3.46 million in funding from the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) to conduct a research project--ENRICHED--to study the health and well-being of pregnant women and their families in Buffalo.
The study aims to establish a cohort study of diverse pregnant women, and their partners, to investigate socioeconomic and racial/ethnic disparities in parental psychopathology and maternal neuroendocrine, immune and metabolic responses. It also aims identify factors that contribute to socioeconomic and racial/ethnic disparities in children’s health and development.
The research team is interested in the experiences of study participants during their entire pregnancy and will also follow up with them after their baby is born. If you take part, you will speak with one of our staff members four times and complete four short online surveys. You will receive a thank-you gift each time you complete a study visit or an online survey.
