The Office of Global Health Initiatives hosts a number of annual events that highlight the work of global health experts, UB faculty, staff, and students and members of the community. 

  • Global Health Initiatives Virtual Innovation Sprint

    Since 2020, the Office of Global Health Initiatives and UB's Blackstone LaunchPad have collaborated to offer a virtual innovation sprint each fall.
  • Annual WNY Refugee Health Summit
    9/10/26
    The Annual Western New York (WNY) Refugee Health Summit unites clinicians, resettlement representatives, community health workers, researchers, students, municipal leaders, and refugees to highlight innovative university-community partnerships that have resulted in research, programming, and solutions to improve health and wellbeing for refugees living in Buffalo and Western New York.
  • Richard V. Lee, MD Lectureship
    9/10/26
    The School of Public Health and Health Professions has established an annual lectureship, focused on aspects of global health, to honor Richard V. Lee, MD.
  • Global Health Day
    9/10/26
    The OGHI hosts the Global Health Day Symposium each April during National Public Health Week, and the event brings together experts researching global health issues.
