Yohane Phiri, PhD, a postdoctoral research associate in the Department of Epidemiology and Environmental Health, won first place at the 14th Annual Postdoctoral Scholars Research Symposium, hosted by UB's Graduate School's Office of Postdoctoral Scholars.
Phiri won for his project titled "Pre-conception health and ambient air pollution associated with preterm birth and low-birth weight among US singletons."
Phiri's project was one of 23 posters across 15 departments across UB that competed at the symposium on Wed., Sept. 18.
The Postdoctoral Research Symposium showcases the research done by postdoctoral scholars through a research abstract/poster competition. The top three abstract/poster presentations are recognized at the event.
