The university community is advised that the Amherst Police Department is investigating a complaint of a sexual assault that occurred off campus in the parking lot of the University Village at Sweethome as a student exited her vehicle.
The alleged assault occurred in the area of Sweet Home Road at 10:20 p.m. on April 23.
Police are looking for two suspects who may have been involved in the assault at the off-campus apartment complex.
The first suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6- feet tall, thin, with brown hair.
The second suspect is described as a darker-skinned male with a goatee.
Amherst Police also are looking for an older, light blue, four-door sedan in poor condition, with silver wheel rims.
Anyone with information to assist in this investigation should contact the Amherst Police Department at 689-1345.
Students and others are urged to be alert to their surroundings and to travel in pairs when possible. A student needing an escort should contact the Anti Rape Task Force Escort Program at 829-2584.
