UB Student Services

A list of commonly accessed services by UB students, such as Student Accounts, Financial Aid, Health Services and more.

  • Financial Aid: Applications, types of aid, cost of attendance and financial literacy.
  • Registrar: Class registration, academic and student calendars, grading, degree audits, student data, enrollment and degree verification, transcripts, class schedules, final exam scheduling and diplomas.
  • Student Accounts: Tuition and fees, comprehensive fees, billing and payment, late fees, liability deadlines, financial aid refunds and New York State residency.
  • Veterans Affairs: UB benefits available to students with military experience.
  • Student Health Services: Appointments, records and other health resources.
  • Counseling Center: Help for students with depression, anxiety and other mental health concerns.
  • Accessibility Resources: Anyone with a disability who needs reasonable accommodations to access education, employment, or any service or activity at UB should contact Accessibility Resources.
  • Student Affairs: Wide range of services, from dispute mediation to late-night entertainment on campus.
  • Campus Parking and Transportation: Parking permits and bus schedules.
  • University at Buffalo Information Technology (UBIT): Learn about the software and services UB provides to help you study, teach and work.

  • Collaborative Learning and Integrated Mentoring in Biosciences is a grant-funded program sponsored by the New York State Department of Education to support talented underrepresented students pursuing science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), licensed professions and health-related professions. CSTEP offers key preparation, resources and opportunities critical to student success.
  • Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) is a grant-funded program sponsored by the New York State Department of Education to support talented underrepresented students pursuing science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), licensed professions and health-related professions. CSTEP offers key preparation, resources and opportunities critical to student success.
  • Cora P. Maloney College (CPMC) is focused on enhancing the University at Buffalo experience. Chartered in 1976, CPMC focuses on a range of educational issues including academic achievement and enhancement, social justice and cross cultural awareness. CPMC fosters the interconnectivity between UB students and their living and learning community, providing for a transformative undergraduate experience that supports growth in Buffalo and Western New York.
  • Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program is designed to provide encouragement and services to low-income and first-generation college students, and increase participation from underrepresented groups in pursuing doctoral study.

Student Groups: Here's a list of diverse student groups for you to connect with fellow UB students and members of the WNY community. 

  • UB Counseling Center Rainbow Hour: This is a monthly drop-in LGBTQ+ meeting for students designed to foster connection, community, and conversation for LGBTQIA+ students.
  •  Intercultural and Diversity Center: The IDC provides students with a wide range of resources. They have student and professional staff who specifically seek to provide support and advocacy for LGBTQ+ students as well as provide regular programming specifically for LGBTQ+ students and allies. They encourage students to stop by the IDC, sign up for their weekly electronic newsletter, or call or email them (645-2434; stu-idc@buffalo.edu) to learn more about what they can provide.
  • Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Alliance (LGBTA): This group establishes a safe space on campus to facilitate understanding among all students.
  • UB PRISM: This organization creates a safe space for People of Color that are a part of the LGBTQ+ community.
  • SPHHP Queer Journal Club: Graduate and undergraduate students meet to read articles and discuss the implications of what is known and unknown about the larger LGBTQ+ community. The Queer Journal Club is participant driven and a safe space to have community with others in SPHHP. For more information, contact Dr. Bartelt (she/her): ebartelt@buffalo.edu for more information.
  • WNY Pride Center Online Support Groups: The WNY Pride Center offers virtual groups and services to provide support to the LGBTQ+ community.

Extracurricular Opportunities and Events: Meet new people and get involved in UB organizations and events. 

  • The Intercultural & Diversity Center’s (IDC) mission is to educate students through programs and events that increase their understanding of the multi-faceted aspects of diversity and the advantages of being at the University at Buffalo, a diverse institution. The center provides opportunities to engage in dialogue, celebrate differences and commonalities, and promote awareness about diversity and how it affects our beliefs, perceptions and the global society.
  • The People of Color Council (POC) focuses on celebrating, preserving and educating students about the cultures of the minority population in America. POC clubs are also active in the Buffalo community and are united with a common goal—to increase minority representation at UB, SUNY and state levels. 
  • The Asian American Student Union supports and encourages Asian American culture within the UB community. Contact ubsa-aasu@buffalo.edu
  • The Office of Inclusive Excellence's offers LGBTQ+ Events for members of the LGBTQ+ community.
