The following websites are great starting points for your Culminating Project research. The list includes resources for statistical data, basic epidemiologic information about health problems and public health intervention assessments.

• The Community Guide  Identifies public health interventions whose effectiveness have been assessed. The site provides links to excellent literature reviews, which in turn provide references for additional details about interventions, such as how effective they were and what resources were needed to design and conduct the interventions or programs.
  
• Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Provides disease risk factors, information and interventions; publications and research tools
  • CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Reports Serves as the agency’s primary vehicle for scientific publication of public health information and recommendations
  • CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics Serves as the nation’s principal health statistics agency
  • CDC’s Wide-ranging Online Data for Epidemiologic Research (WONDER) Provides statistical research data published by the CDC, as well as reference materials, reports and guidelines on health-related topics
• Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Provides state and federal resources for researching environmental health conditions
• The Federal Committee on Statistical Methodology Provides access to statistics from more than 100 agencies
• Guide to Community Preventive Services Identifies public health interventions which have been assessed based on a scientific systematic review process
• HealthData.gov Provides access to hundreds of data sets
• HealthFinder.gov Includes resources on a range of health topics selected from more than 1,600 government and nonprofit organizations
• Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation’s Global Health Data Exchange (GHDx) Catalogs health and demographic data from around the world, including population census data, surveys, registries, indicators and estimates, administrative health data and financial data related to health
• Kaiser Family Foundation’s State Health Facts Provides health data on more than 700 health topics for all 50 states
• March of Dimes’ Peristats Provides access to maternal and infant health data for the United States and by state or region, including more than 60,000 graphs, maps and tables
