We protect the public's health by investigating and preventing disease, disability and death; developing and implementing health programs, education and policies; conducting and translating research; promoting healthy behaviors; and creating safe and healthy environments.
Complete 44 to 49 credits of foundational, concentration-specific and elective public health courses, interprofessional collaborative practice activities, a field training experience, and a culminating project.

Gain fundamental public health knowledge and learn applied statistical methods with an MPH in biostatistics (46-47 credits). As a biostatistician working in public health or health care organizations, you will use these techniques to document the magnitude of health problems, analyze their consequences on public health and health care delivery systems and evaluate the effectiveness of prevention and treatment programs. As a biostatistician involved in scientific research, you will use these techniques to identify the causes of diseases and injuries, evaluate public health programs and design mathematical models that describe the progression of diseases in populations.
Explore the actions of individuals, groups and organizations from a scientific perspective to promote health with an MPH in community health and health behavior (47 credits). As a health behavior practitioner, you will apply your knowledge of the patterns, determinants and consequences of health-related behaviors, including addictions, stress and coping, and physical activity and nutrition, to addressing health challenges in communities.
Identify and address environmental factors that influence health, and develop tools to sustain an environment that promotes health with an MPH in environmental health (45-46 credits). As an environmental health scientist, you will explore the relationship of agents found in air, water and soil to cancer, birth defects, neurological disorders and other health conditions. As an environmental health practitioner, you will use this understanding to identify hazards in the environment, assess the risks and design interventions.
Study the frequency, distribution and determinants of human diseases and injuries in populations with an MPH in epidemiology (49 credits). As an epidemiologist, you will strive to understand the risk factors for diseases and injuries and apply this understanding to inform both interventions to prevent diseases and injuries and to promote healthy communities.
Promote health by assessing population health needs, formulating and evaluating policies and interventions, and assuring the effectiveness of programs and services with an MPH in health services administration (47-48 credits). As a public health administrator, you will be involved with program planning, implementation, participation, evaluation, collaborations and partnerships, and policy development.

As a practitioner with training in core public health principles, you will be involved with advocacy, planning, programming, implementation or evaluation for disease prevention and health promotion.
You'll receive the same foundational public health education as other concentrations, while tailoring your program to meet your unique interests and a focus on health equity through coursework and hands-on practice activities with an individualized MPH (44 credits). Study foundations of public health by obtaining a broad overview of theories and principles that advance population health and well-being. As a practitioner with training in core public health principles, you will be involved with advocacy, planning, programming, implementation or evaluation for disease prevention and health promotion. Students in this program also have the option to earn a Micro-Credential in Eliminating Health Inequities.
You can also tailor your MPH based on your in a fully-customizable program. Complete this MPH in a seated/hybrid format or fully online.
