Jill Wisniewski
As the occupational therapy director at Absolut Care in Gasport, NY, Jill Wisniewski’s responsibilities range from direct patient care to managing personnel, scheduling, billing and evaluations.
She said she is grateful for her UB education which helped prepare her for this leadership role.
“My fieldwork opportunities and community involvement projects pushed me to present myself in a professional manner with residents, patients and families,” she said. “I learned how to share my knowledge of OT and explain the importance of a person receiving occupational therapy services. UB’s program gave me the confidence that I would need to succeed in any work environment.”
In addition to the career training, Wisniewski said the friendships she made were highlights of the program.
“I loved how my class consisted of only about 38 students and how close we all became as classmates and future professionals. And the program provided lasting connections with my professors who are available to help me succeed as an occupational therapist in any way possible.”
