At the heart of Health on Wheels, UB's mobile health unit, is the belief that unity is essential to improving health and promoting wellness. Health on Wheels' mission relies on strong partnerships, community collaboration and collective effort. As we work together, we can make better health more accessible, inclusive and effective for everyone.
UB's mobile health unit is more than just a source of screenings, health education and navigation; it’s a community-driven initiative that relies on teamwork and collective action. Health on Wheels is fueled by partnerships with various stakeholders, including
Collaboration with students
We believe in empowering the next generation of health professionals. Students from various disciplines including physical therapy, pharmacy, medical, dental and social work contribute their skills and knowledge while gaining invaluable experience in a real-world setting. Their contributions help support comprehensives services for those in need.
Work with faculty and staff
Faculty members play an essential role in supervising and mentoring students and ensuring the mobile health unit provides evidence-based services. Our partnerships with academic staff also help guide the development of research, training programs and public health initiatives.
Community collaboration
The mobile health unit operates as a collaborative effort among health experts, local organizations and the community. We work together to tackle health challenges, promote wellness and address health disparities. Through outreach programs, educational seminars and health campaigns, we aim to empower the community to take charge of their health.
Health on Wheels welcomes partnerships with organizations, local health providers and other community groups. By joining forces, we can reach more individuals and enhance the services we offer.
