Ryan Krzyzanowicz, director of UB’s Athletic Training Program, has received the Bob and Lynn Caruthers Service Award recognizing significant and distinguished service to professional and specialized accreditation.

The honor was awarded by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).

“I’m very honored to receive this recognition for my services to the CAATE and to give back to the profession that I think we all love so much,” Krzyzanowicz said when accepting the award.

For many years, Krzyzanowicz volunteered for CAATE by serving as chair of the CAATE Peer Review Committee. He has served on peer review teams for 13 programs and received the President’s Award for his service in 2021.

CAATE is the sole accreditor of athletic training programs in the United States. Recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, it defines, measures and continually improves athletic training education.
