Amara Hatzis, Class of 2026

DPT Student Amara Hatzis.

My name is Amara Hatzis, and I’m a second-year DPT student at UB, originally from Highland Mills, NY. After earning my BS in Exercise Science from SUNY Oneonta, I transferred to UB to continue my studies. In addition to my coursework, I serve as the DPT Club Secretary, where I’ve dedicated my time to making the club more interactive and ensuring everyone feels engaged and connected. Throughout my studies, I’ve developed a strong interest in Oncology and Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy, intending to support those affected by cancer. Dalton Jerzak, Class of 2026

DPT Student Dalton Jerzak.

My name is Dalton, and I am a first-year student in the DPT program. I completed my undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at SUNY Fredonia where I was a member of the men's ice hockey team. Outside of classes I like to hike, be outdoors, and stay active. I am a huge Buffalo sports fan and love being in the Buffalo area. If you have any questions don't hesitate to reach out! Horns up! 

James Schneider, Class of 2026

DPT Student James Schneider.

My name is James and I am a first-year student in the DPT program. I completed my undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at Michigan State University and I completed my Master’s in Health and Human Performance at Canisius. The last few years I've been working in Cardiac Rehab and decided to come back to UB for Physical Therapy. I am a first-year rep in the DPT Club and try to stay involved in the program anyway I can. After I graduate, I’d like to do some travel PT to get experience in as many settings as I can and see all that the profession has to offer. I was born and raised in Buffalo, I love the winter and taking advantage of everything that goes on in and around the city. My name is Carley Swanson, and I am a first-year DPT student in the 3+3 combined Exercise Science BS/DPT program. I am a part of the Honors College at UB and was also a member of a sorority here on-campus. Outside of school, I love to dance and stay active in the Buffalo community. Don't be afraid to reach out! Isabella Battaglia, Class of 2027

DPT Student Isabella Battaglia.

I am a first year DPT student with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from the University of Buffalo. Since 2019, I have been an active member of UB Women’s Club Ice Hockey. As a Buffalo native, I enjoy going to nearby breweries and staying active through local recreational softball and hockey leagues. I am also a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, and in my free time I love camping, going on hikes, and exploring the outdoors. Claudia Scampoli, Class of 2027

DPT Student Claudia Scampoli.

My name is Claudia and I am in the DPT class of 2027. I am a first year representative of the DPT club and I enjoy getting involved in the program as much as possible! I acquired my undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from UB in May of 2024 before starting the DPT program. I am interested in becoming a travel PT soon after graduating so I can experience what PT is like in other states, but the opportunities are endless! Outside of school, I enjoy staying active in any ways I can. I snowboard/skateboard in my free time, and I play soccer and ice hockey whenever I can. My name is Christian, and I am a current first-year DPT student in UB's 3+3 combined Exercise Science BS/DPT program.  Over my four years at UB, I was a member of the UB Honors College and an on-campus business fraternity while also participating in undergraduate research. Outside of school, I enjoy snowboarding, exercising and playing outdoor sports with friends. I'm always interested in meeting new people and learning from others.
