Competency Group: Material Science
Type: Measure Hardware
Description: Static hydraulic systems are high-capacity universal testing machines. These frames use hydraulics to cost-effectively provide the forces necessary for static tension, compression, bend, and shear testing. E.g. Samples of materials or components undergo a range of tests that will be performed in order to assess how a component will behave in various conditions.

Units: Bend, Shearing and tension.
Advantages: This failure testing can see what force limits the components usage.
Limitations: Will cost a couple of prototypes which will be deliberately broken.
