- Official transcripts from current and previous institutions.
- Three letters of recommendation.
GRE scores are not required and will not be considered.
- First, complete the application via SOPHAS.
- Submit your personal statement describing your specific interests in the field of community health and health behavior. Your statement should be up to two pages, single-spaced, and should address the following:
- Factors influencing you to apply to the MS in Community Health and Health Behavior and how this program is a good fit to achieve your goals.
- Relevant work, research, volunteer, or other experiences that will contribute to your overall success as a graduate student and investigator in community health research.
- As the MS is a research-focused degree, please identify a) specific health topics and/or research methods that interest you; and b) your preferred faculty mentor.
- Have previous educational institutions send official transcripts to our department via email at sphhp-chhb-ms-phd@buffalo.edu.
- Finally, pay the $50 University at Buffalo application fee.
- There will be a grace period of up to Feb. 20 to pay the $50 UB application fee. UB application fees submitted after this date will result in an incomplete application. We do not offer UB application fee waivers based on financial need alone. See the tuition and financial aid tab for more information.
- Students applying for the MS in Community Health and Health Behavior that think they are eligible for a UB Graduate Application Fee Waiver must contact the graduate program coordinator by Jan. 8.
Even if you have submitted your SOPHAS application by the deadline, your application is not considered complete unless we have all materials. This includes three letters of recommendation, transcripts, English language test scores (if applicable), and the $50 UB application fee. If any materials are received after the deadline of Feb. 15 , your application is considered “incomplete."
