Abstract: This study will look at post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and the long-term effects of Hurricane Katrina on police officers who worked during the disaster. More specifically, it will examine the long-term, post-Katrina mental health and social impact on police officers who policed the disaster in St. Bernard Parish, located southeast of New Orleans and one of the areas most devastated by the hurricane.
