The Division of Environmental Health Sciences is your resource for environmental health education, research and service opportunities at UB.
Join us in working to understand how the environment impacts our health, in helping to create sustainable environments that protect and promote health, and in contributing to the international exchange of ideas through our research studies.
For students, we can help customize your academic study to focus on environmental health sciences for public health practice as well as provide research opportunities.
For faculty members and research and community partners, we can collaborate to explore and address key issues. These may range from determining human exposures and the potential adverse health effects associated with pesticide use by Egyptian agricultural workers to studying air pollution in Beijing and Buffalo to investigating effects of consuming contaminated fish from the Great Lakes.
Housed within the School of Public Health and Health Professions’ Department of Epidemiology and Environmental Health, the division brings together environmental epidemiologists, toxicologists, chemists, engineers, geographers and professionals from other disciplines to integrate perspectives from a wide range of research areas.
