UB Psychology Undergraduate Students

The School of Public Health and Health Professions offers a streamlined application process for current students in the University at Buffalo's BA or BS in psychology who meet specific criteria to apply to the Master of Public Health (MPH) program.

The following MPH concentrations are approved for streamlined applicants: Community Health and Health Behavior, Health Services Administration, and the Individualized option.

Admission Requirements

You must be a current student enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University at Buffalo with a minimum overall GPA of 3.25 and minimum GPA of 3.25 in psychology courses.

  • Official college transcripts from each institution attended 
  • Personal statement describing your interest in public health, relevant background and experiences, and career goals
  • Contact information for two references
    • At least one reference must be a faculty member of your prior qualifying program (the other may be from academic, research, or work experience)
  • GRE scores are not required for admission

Additional Requirements for International Applicants

  • English proficiency as demonstrated by TOEFL scores: minimum 90 Internet-based test. If you took another form of the TOEFL, please email sphhp-oasa@buffalo.edu.

Apply to MPH program using the streamlined SOPHAS Express Application through SOPHAS.org. In addition to the SOPHAS Express application fee of $50, you will also pay the UB application fee of $50.

The deadline for all applicants is April 1.
