Abstract: The overarching goal of this project was to better understand how people’s affective associations with foods and with physical activity behaviors influence their behavioral choices. The project also explored how affective associations relate to traditional social cognitive constructs examined in health decision making and how the interplay of cognitive and affective influences relates to behavioral choice. The project involved a systematic research program of both community-based survey studies and laboratory-based experiments.
