Christine B. Ambrosone, a distinguished professor of oncology and leading expert in cancer prevention and control, will deliver the 18th Annual Saxon Graham Lecture on April 18.
The annual lecture, hosted by the School of Public Health and Health Professions and its Department of Epidemiology and Environmental Health, will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in 403 Hayes Hall, South Campus. A complimentary boxed lunch will be served.
Ambrosone, chair of the Department of Cancer Prevention and Control at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, will discuss “Use of Molecular Epidemiology to Understand Cancer Risk and Outcomes.”
Her research focuses on understanding cancer disparities, particularly why aggressive breast cancer subtypes are more common among Black women. With more than 420 peer-reviewed publications and an h-index of 100, Ambrosone has been continuously funded by the National Cancer Institute and has contributed to multiple high-impact studies in cancer prevention and epidemiology.
This annual lecture series honors Saxon Graham, a pioneering UB epidemiologist whose research advanced the understanding of cancer risk factors. The event brings together students, faculty and community members to engage with leading public health researchers.
