Assistantships, which may provide a stipend and a tuition scholarship for the MS and PhD programs, also complement your learning experiences by providing the opportunity to apply the skills and knowledge you have gained.
Teaching assistantships are available within the Department of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences on a competitive basis. Assistantships provide a stipend and cover tuition at in-state rates.
As a teaching assistant, you’ll be expected to help teach up to 20 hours per week. Courses to teach include:

Applicants will be ranked by the Graduate Affairs Committee according to their academic records, letters of recommendation and, if practical, an interview. Doctoral students in their first year of study will be given preference. The Graduate Affairs Committee will make recommendations to the department chair regarding the ranking of applicants, and the chair will award assistantships by April 15 whenever possible.
