Reporting Adverse Incidents

Students, faculty members and staff members have the right to learn, teach and work in a setting free of mistreatment, harassment and discrimination. If you have concerns related to treatment you have received from others, we have processes and resources to help you resolve the issue. UB SPHHP recommends you report unprofessional or inappropriate behavior, intolerance, violence, or illegal discrimination that you witness or experience. Your report ensures a safe and inclusive environment for everyone.

As outlined in the UB Discrimination and Harassment Policy, retaliation against anyone who reports discrimination, participates or assists in an investigation, or opposes a discriminatory act, practice, or policy is unlawful and is prohibited. Retaliation is not tolerated and may result in a referral to the university's disciplinary process.

In Case of an Emergency

If you ever feel you are being threatened or are in danger, or you witness someone else being threatened or in danger, immediately contact the University Police at 716-645-2222.

Retaliation Protection

University policy prohibits retaliation against individuals who, in good faith, provide reports or complaints of incidents of mistreatment and/or violation of this policy. Claims of retaliation will be investigated separately from the initial report. If you believe you have experienced retaliation for reporting discriminatory or harassing conduct, contact the Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
