About Kiros Berhane

Berhane is the Cynthia and Robert Citron-Roslyn and Leslie Goldstein professor and chairman of the department of biostatistics at the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University.

He received a BSc in statistics and mathematics from Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia, an MS in statistics from University of Guelph and a PhD in biostatistics from University of Toronto. In addition, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Johns Hopkins University.

He is a widely published international expert on the development of statistical methods with a focus on complex and correlated data structures, as well as their application into a wide range of public health topics.
