Apply Online

Apply online to the PhD program. The online application is fast, easy and secure. A $50 non-refundable fee is required.

Deadlines

  • March 1 to be considered for fall semester
  • Oct. 15 to be considered for spring semester

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the last 60 hours of undergraduate work.

Supplemental Materials

You may submit a Nutrition PhD application and upload your supplemental materials as they are ready. Please be aware we cannot currently offer application fee waivers for the Nutrition PhD program.

  • You will need to submit a copy of your biographical page (with picture) from your passport.
  • Contact a faculty member in your area of interest to arrange an interview.
  • Secure two recommendation forms from individuals who have worked closely with you and have considerable knowledge of your academic performance.
  • Request that your official transcripts from each college or university you have attended are sent to the department.
  • Request that your official TOEFL scores are sent to the department.
    When requesting your TOEFL scores, use these reporting codes: Institution 2925; Department 77
  • Include a statement of career objectives and plans listing your area of concentration and research interests. This section is very important in the application process; complete with as much detail as possible.
  • Please note that depending on your educational background, the faculty admissions committee may require you to submit a WES Course-by-Course Evaluation. You can inquire about this at phhp.ens.grad@buffalo.edu
