How long does the program take to complete?

The program is designed to be completed in one year, three consecutive semesters: summer, fall and spring). It is full-time only.

When does the program start?

The program begins each year in the Summer semester. For 2026, the summer semester begins on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.

Is the program available part-time?

No. The MS in Strength and Conditioning is a full-time program.

What undergraduate degree do I need?

A bachelor's degree (in-progress or completed) in exercise science or related field is preferred. Applications must have the pre-requisites to apply.

Do I need the CSCS certification before applying?

No. The program is designed to prepare you for the CSCS examination. You will be eligible to sit for the exam upon graduation.

Is financial aid available?

Students are eligible to apply for federal finacial aid and could also explore external grants or scholarships. Contact the UB Financial Aid Office for more informaiton.

Is the program accredited?

The program is designed to meet the standards of the Council on Accreditation of Strength and Conditioning Education (CASCE). The program plans to seek accreditaiton prior to the CASCE mandate in 2030.
