Overview

Summary

Dr. Chris Perry is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Exercise & Nutrition Sciences at the University at Buffalo. His academic work integrates sleep and circadian biology with exercise physiology and performance programming, leveraging field-grade measures (actigraphy, wearable health metrics, HRV, and simple vigilance tasks) and biomarker-informed coaching to translate science into practice. At UB, he is working to bring together Exercise & Nutrition Sciences, Athletics, and the broader campus community to improve health and performance in students, athletes, and neighbors across Western New York. He teaches across ENS programs with specialization in strength & conditioning, coaching tactical and special populations, and developing leadership capacity in emerging health professionals.

Beyond UB, Perry works in the fitness & performance industry where he acts as a Clinical Performance Anchor and visible-stressors analyst for executives and professional athletes. In this role, he interprets workload, travel, scheduling, soreness/fatigue, and paired biomarker data to advise comprehensive strategies across sleep, strength & conditioning, nutrition, hydration, and lifestyle aligning training stress with health status to sustain high performance. His industry experience spans older adults, adapted and special populations, collegiate teams, high-performance executives, military, and professional sport.
