Heather Bieber, MPH, MCHES, ACSM-EP® serves as the Program Director for the Undergraduate Exercise Science program. In this role, she provides strategic leadership for the undergraduate curriculum, overseeing program assessment, academic policies, and student success initiatives for a large and diverse student population. An experienced educator, Bieber teaches across the Exercise Science curriculum, including courses in physical activity behavior, exercise assessment and programming, health promotion, and health coaching. Her teaching emphasizes evidence-based practice, student-centered learning, and behavior change strategies, preparing students for graduate study and careers in health, wellness, and clinical fields. Prior to joining UB, Bieber held leadership roles in corporate and community wellness. She served as a health advocate manager with Cigna and as a wellness coordinator for Universal Orlando Resort and Lee County government in Southwest Florida. In these roles, she led large-scale health promotion initiatives, managed multidisciplinary teams, and implemented programs that improved employee engagement and health outcomes. Bieber earned her Master of Public Health from Emory University, where she conducted research in health literacy and worked with the CDC’s Division of Adolescent and School Health. Her early career in the fitness industry—as an ACSM-certified group fitness instructor, personal trainer, and fitness program director—continues to inform her applied, student-centered approach to teaching, service, and program leadership.
