Summary

Dr. Ann P. Kuhn is an assistant professor in the Department of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences. She joined the faculty after earning a doctoral degree in exercise science at the University of Northern Colorado and completing postdoctoral training at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Her predoctoral work centered on the promotion of Comprehensive School Physical Activity Programs with a focus on teacher wellness and physical activity. In her postdoctoral fellowship, she gained experience in health disparities research, intensive longitudinal data analyses, and implementation science while working on a school-based obesity prevention intervention in which teachers were trained to implement local school wellness policies to improve student diet-related and physical activity behaviors. Her current research works to build partnerships with school districts to understand needs and barriers to school health, physical activity and employee wellness, and uses implementation science to ensure the adoption of physical activity and health-related interventions that can reach targeted populations.
